A Stay at Formby Hall

One of my favourite things to do is to go away for the weekend, as much as I adore our home I absolutely love escaping to a hotel with Joe, it feels like such a treat. A selfish little night or two away where we are just us, we don't have to worry about work, emails, the pile of washing or the endless DIY that needs finishing starting.

Towards the end of summer we visited Formby Hall just outside of Liverpool for an utterly selfish date night before I went away for a few days. We got so lucky with the weather too, it was beautiful!

Formby Hall has recently been refurbished opening beautiful Loft Rooms, and they are ticking all the interior goals boxes from copper and grey to marble and luxurious cotton. I particularly loved the lamps, the brushed copper finish was right up my street and I so wanted to pinch one!

The bed was insanely comfortable, I'm not usually the best with hotel beds but I slept like a baby, it was like sleeping in a cloud.

I am a sucker for a bathroom so when I spotted the marble clad bathroom, deep bath tub and TV at the end of the tub, I pretty much wanted to cancel our date night and retire to the bath instead. I resisted temptation and decided to talk to Joe instead begrudgingly...

We spent the evening strolling around the grounds, narrowly avoiding being hit by golf balls, before having a quick dinner in the restaurant followed by a slow bottle of wine, lots of chatting and staying up far too late watching silly films.

In the morning I woke up early and went to test out their gym and spa, they have a gorgeous spa area with massage rooms as well as a pool, jacuzzi and fitness suite. I settled for a quick run on the treadmill overlooking the golf course before heading over to stuff my face with breakfast!

*Our stay at Formby Hall was complimentary in return for an honest review, all thoughts are, as always, my own.
