The Made Manchester Supper Club
A few weeks ago I rushed from work in the ridiculous British heatwave to what promised to be a rather civilised evening with Made at their very first Manchester Supper Club at the brand new UNCLE apartment block in central Manchester. I however arrived rather unkempt and entirely uncivilised looking like I'd been dragged through a hedge backwards but thankfully, nobody judged my questionable appearance.
We were there to explore the new UNCLE apartments that are all kitted out in brand new Made.com furniture to see the new additions to their huge range. I'm a big fan of Made and spend far too long filling up my basket instead of doing the housework. If you haven't heard of them (where have you been and go visit their site now) Made is an online home, furniture and home accessories store where each piece is made to order direct from designers, cutting out the middle man that usually adds on £££ in the process making designer furniture accessible to all. Hoorah.
UNCLE is a brand new concept for Manchester, it's essentially an apartment block but with a difference, each apartment is owned by UNCLE rather than separate landlords which means they can make sure there are no hidden fees and everything you need is included, including Made furniture, win. It's just off Oxford Road near Refuge so is an ideal, central spot.
So, shall we have a look around?
Each apartment is a studio but varies in size, the great thing about these apartments are that they're designed to be lived in by our generation, space is utilised well and design is clearly taken into account with everything being compact but made to the highest quality. The Made furniture adds an extra element of design and means you completely avoid the usual dodgy furniture that you find in furnished flats.
The Made furniture is ideal for these apartments, it is all beautifully designed but very practical at the same time.
Even though the flats are compact, they feel very light and airy thanks to the original windows that have been restored. Just take a look below and see if you fall in love or not, I kind of did.
The Shared Space
I loved these parts of UNCLE, from the beautiful lobby with antique post boxes complete with Farrow & Ball’s Hague Blue paint and the yoga studio that is open 24 hours to the art studio that is available to anyone at any time who fancies getting creative.
There is also a shared workspace that is open 24 hours that can be used to work from home or start your own business, it is set up with millenials in mind.
The Supper Club
Ok, so the food isn't necessarily Made or UNCLE but it was the very first Made Supper Club in Manchester and was bloody delicious so I'll give you a little taste. After a thorough tour of UNCLE and seeing all of the Made furniture, we sat down at a beautifully laid table (full of Made table and home accessories) for dinner thanks to Grape and Grain.
The table was full of other lifestyle and home bloggers as well as the girls from Made so it was lovely to catch up with everyone including Kate, Susie, Karen, Karen Anita, Lisa and Kimberley.
The food was pretty incredible, we had canapes including the delicious Vimto watermelon below then headed into the full Supper Club experience. Dinner kicked off with asparagus and parma ham, went onto crab and smoked salmon for the fish course, the main was a delicious aged fillet of Cheshire beef and finished off with 'Manchester mille-feuille' which was full of vimto, custard and Eccles cake flavours. Each course was paired with a glass of wine, wine always tastes better when it's expertly paired with dishes so I was very happy!
How beautiful are the table accessories? I loved the bright colours, different metallics and many styles of glasses. I'm aiming to have my dining table looking like the below asap.
A big thank you to Made and UNCLE for showing us around and treating us to dinner, it was such a lovely evening with so many lovely people.
