A Day in the Life | Challenge Bodyform
Sunday is oddly one of the busiest days of the week for me. It's the day I get my blog sorted for the week ahead, squeeze in exercise and try to see friends as well as having a lazy night at home with Joe to get us ready for the work week ahead. Bodyform challenged me to take you with me on a usual day in my life, so I thought I'd bring you along with me for a busy Sunday.
Because Bodyform isn't just for that time of the month, I put their Daily Fresh Liners to the test to see if they stood up to their promises. Sometimes I 100% just want to laze around in bed all day but I drag myself out of bed and make the most of the day, with the Daily Fresh Liners I have one less thing to worry about as I rush around.
Bodyform know that their Daily Fresh Liners are perfect to use at any time during your cycle for everyday freshness and confidence so they challenged me to put them to the test.
My Sunday mornings always start with getting up to speed with my blog, I plough through emails, edit photos and write up blog posts for the week ahead. All usually still in my pyjamas, not going to lie!
As I work full time it's really hard for me to keep on top of my blog during the week so Sunday is pretty much another full work day for me to get back on top of things. I usually wake up early and spend hours working through everything from the comfort of our pink velvet sofa while Joe sleeps in. It's always a productive but peaceful time, the satisfaction of seeing 'you have no new emails' is amazing at the end!
I've been trying to add regular exercise to my weekly routine for the past month and finally, I'm actually enjoying it for once! I've been doing a mixture of swimming, boxing and strength training every week and though I've not lost much weight, I can feel my body getting more toned, my aim is to look like Wonder Woman eventually, a girl has got to have a dream right?
This week I had a pretty gruelling session with Danny at his gym Deft Motion in Ancoats, it's definitely not your standard gym as it's all focused around strength training. There's not a treadmill in sight but instead, plenty of weights and a more tractor tyres than I'd like to see.
We did an hour of intense warm ups and circuits which included flipping 80kg tractor tyres and dragging a weighted sledge, normal behaviour. I was ready to go straight to bed after this but the Bodyform liners had kept their promise, keeping me feeling fresh throughout.
I am nowhere near happy with my body so posting these photos is quite uncomfortable for me, though I'm hoping I'll be able to look back next year and be able to see progress, both physically and mentally.
Finally the session finished (I survived! Well, I did manage to sprain both wrists but never mind...) and it was time to head across town for a late afternoon tea with my friend Larisa at Gotham, I've been dying to head there for ages so couldn't wait! Plus, all the calories I'd burned in the morning meant it was essentially guilt free right?
I had a speedy shower and did a quick costume change into Oasis culottes, a COS top, M&S shoes, my favourite Mansur Gavriel bucket bag and pom pom earrings I picked up in Canada. I threw my hair up into a bun as I didn't have time to wash it in between (thank goodness for dry shampoo) and jumped in an Uber.
I'd been to Gotham a few times before but only ever for events so I was so excited to try the food for the first time, we were shown to our seats in their restaurant Honey. The view was amazing from the 13th floor and we had a great seat right next to a crescent window, we ordered a glass of prosecco each because we terrifically fancy after all!
The afternoon tea arrived nice and quickly with classic sandwiches, a selection of dreamy desserts and scones with jam and clotted cream. I devoured mine as I was feeling particularly greedy after that morning's tyre flipping but Larisa took leftovers home to her boyfriend, Joe got nothing and I regret nothing.
We managed to talk our way into being let up to the member's only bar (that's how we roll) and we sat on the roof terrace with our drinks chatting and admiring the view. Thankfully the weather was in our favour and the sun was shining so it felt more like being on holiday than being in the centre of Manchester!
A big thank you to the Bodyform team for challenging me to document a day in my busy life, it was so much fun! If you want to find out more about Bodyform Daily Fresh Liners, visit their site here.
