Valentine's Day is just another day to me, it's not a day when I expect grand romantic gestures or flowers delivered to the office, it's more just an excuse to spend time together and indulge in a bit of food and wine. It's so close to our anniversary that Joe and I tend not to do anything more than an M&S dine in for £20, and I am 100% on board with that.
Instead of getting loved up with Joe this weekend, I spent Saturday spoiling myself rotten on a 'mate date' with Estee Lauder at Selfridges at The Trafford Centre with Laura. I'm all about galentines over valentines this year!
The lovely people at Selfridges at The Trafford Centre invited us down to try out either the 'mate night' or 'date night' makeover looks that they are offering at the moment, you can pop in and take your pick too. Laura and I both chose the day time look, a very natural, light coverage option with a smudged liner and nude lip. Doesn't Laura look beaut?
The lovely Siobhan who I've met a few times at various Estee events in Manchester was on hand to create our looks, she listened intently to everything we wanted from our looks and tweaked them accordingly, Laura wanted gloss and a cream shadow whereas I wanted a matt lip and a more pink shade on my lids, we both got exactly what we wanted so thank you Siobhan!
After our Estee Lauder makeover, we met Rebecca and went for ALL the pasta, a bit of shopping and then treated ourselves to a Jo Malone hand and arm massage. I'm about 98% sure we'll do the same thing this weekend while Joe is away on a football trip, I'm planning to stretch out galentines as much as possible!
Thanks to Estee Lauder for treating us to a complimentary makeover, you can do the same if you fancy a mate date too. Just pop by the counter in Selfridges to book yourself in.
