17 Things to do before I'm 30
I realised on New Year's Day that I can officially say 'I'm 30 next year'. Vomit.
I'm not too bothered by age but 30 seems an awfully round, grown up number. An age where I should legitimately have my shit together that is looming ever closer, and my shit is very much not together. I started writing a list of things that I'd like to do before I'm 30 and thankfully I'm on the way to ticking some of them off, but here is the whole 17 (for 2017 of course, definitely not because I couldn't think of 30...)
Go to Canada
My best friend lives a million miles away in Canada and, in the four years she's been there, I've not been once. Worst friend ever. Thankfully Joe got me tickets for us to go and visit her, he got mega brownie points for that one!
Buy a house
We've actually ticked this one off! Now it's just a case of actually being able to pay the mortgage and remembering to put the bins out. Damn, I actually need to put the bins out right now.
Go and see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
This is a rather small but considerably life changing one. Tickets go on sale on Monday next week and I am determined to get my mitts on some! It's here at 11am on the 23rd if you're keen too.
Standard. I've put on a stone over the past year and I am not a fan, I'm planning to shift it and go into my 30s looking banging.
Part of the above point but I want to make sure I'm eating better, not just more healthily but better. I want to grow my own vegetables and be conscious of what I'm buying and how it was produced. I'd also like to eat more vegetarian meals to lower my meat intake. And I should probably drink less wine, but I love it so that's not really going to happen.
Start my own business
I've actually ticked this one off too! If you can call an online store that has been running for 4 days a business that is... Let's see how it goes! If you want to have a nosey, visit Pomme Pomme here.
Work on my photography (and learn how to use my camera properly)
I've had a DSLR for about 6 years now and still don't really know how to use it in manual (don't judge, I'm busy!) so that is a definite one for the list.
Go to New Zealand
Unlike everyone else on the planet, I have no desire to go to Australia, I'd far rather see New Zealand with all the wonderful landscapes and sheep. Plus Joe would lose his shit over the hobbits.
Learn a language
Or at least attempt to... I already know I'll fail at this one as I'm awful at language but I'll give it a bloody good try. If you have any recommendations of good online classes, please let me know.
Buy my first car
At the ripe old age of 28 I have never owned my own car. I currently have a company car and before that I nicked my boyfriend's at the time, the company cars all have to be given back next month so I'm trying to figure out how to use Autotrader. I'm actually taking a Toyota C-HR out for the weekend to try it out so wish me luck!
Even though I technically have a successful career in digital marketing I never actually feel confident in myself, I've always been shy and questioned my ability but this year is the year of believing in myself. That's such a cheesy one. Soz.
Stop saying 'just' so much
It's such a passive word, it's basically like saying 'sorry' all the time and I manage to say it in every single email I write. It's part of the above really but I do it so often I feel like it needs a point all to itself.
See my family more
My family are all over the country so I rarely get to see them but in the next couple of years I want to see everyone as much as I can!
See more of the world
There are specific places I would love to visit like Canada and New Zealand, but I'd also just like to see more of the world. My friend just got back from an Iglu Cruise and she's totally sold me the dream, now I just need to get over my sea sickness...
Make our house ours
A new addition. We've been in the new house about 6 weeks now and it's starting to take shape, but there's still a long way to go!
Blog more regularly
I adore blogging and have been doing it for so long that it's just a part of my life, but recently work and real life have been getting in the way. This is my pledge to blog more and concentrate more on my content so I'm not just doing life updates and lists. Ahem...
Plan something amazing for my 30th
Because I'm totally allowed to because it's my birthday.
