Life Lately: An Update
I've been a bit AWOL from the world of blogging these past couple of months, not intentionally at all, just general life has taken over. Nothing major has happened, but lots of little things are adding up to mean that I've had very little time to spend on Tweet, which I am not a fan of and aim to change as soon as physically possible.
But I just wanted to post a quick update about bits and pieces that are going on in my life at the moment, consider this a bit of a diary entry!
The big thing in our life at the moment is trying to buy a house, we've settled on an area (finally!) and have seen all the available houses so now we're waiting for new ones to come onto the market. The whole process was fun for about two weeks, I love nosing around houses and imagining our new life in them, but after you've seen 6 or 7 and spent your whole weekend driving around Manchester, it kind of loses the appeal. I cannot wait to move into a house of our own!
Everything else is pretty much the same, still very happily with Joe (who's currently miles away in San Diego for Comic Con, boo) and trying to see as much of family and friends as possible which isn't always easy!
I finally got my second tattoo, I've had it for a month now and absolutely love it. More to come on that so keep an eye out on my blog if you're interested in seeing more.
I have also decided that I need to take action with my teeth, I'm not happy at all with how they look at the moment so am looking into different kinds of braces at the moment, if you have any suggestions or tips, please let me know!
Work has been mad, The Hut Group is growing at a ridiculous rate and it means that every day is drastically different. The past couple of months have seen my team change with lovely new people being added and unfortunately having to say goodbye to a couple of people, whilst trying to make sure everyone else is happy and supported. We're also launching so many new channels, projects and site changes, it's such an exciting time but slightly taking over!
Friends and Family
Last weekend my Mum, Joe and Joe's brother and wife headed to Latitude, it was my mum and I's 9th time at Latitude! It's one of my favourite times of the year, we get to spend proper time together, listen to our favourite music and (hopefully) laze around in the sun. Perfect.
I got my sister tickets to see Busted for Christmas so a month or so ago we donned our Busted tees, stocked up on plenty of prosecco and sang our little hearts out to all of her favourite songs from years ago, it was so much fun and so lovely to spend some proper time with her! Thanks to HMV we also managed to squeeze in a girly film (complete with popcorn!) as they sent us her favourite film, The Breakfast Club, to watch.
I've also been trying to squeeze in as many brunches, lunches and dinners with friends as possible, a few of my oldest friends (from primary school!) came over last night for dinner and movies, it was such a lovely evening and I cannot wait to do it again.
Health and Fitness
I'm not going to lie, this has taken a back seat recently with Latitude, work hours getting silly and enjoying the beautiful weather we've been having. But over the past couple of months I've been working with Danny at Deft Motion to try and whip myself into shape, I've seen some really good progress with muscle growth and fat loss so will be getting back onto the programme from next week. Danny is amazing, he somehow is able to make me do ridiculous exercise that I would never be able to do, I'd thoroughly recommend chatting to him if you want to try weights! I'm so not happy with my body after the past couple of weeks of indulgence, way too many Magnums have passed my lips, so it's time to sort that out and get back into shape to give me a bit more confidence.
We attempted to stop drinking in June and did pretty well seeing as Brexit tipped us over the edge! Throughout the whole month I think I had about 6 drinks so not too shabby at all considering we usually indulge in a couple of bottles of wine a weekend, I just love a good Malbec and that's never going to change!
Anyway, the moral of the story is that I'll be posting more regularly and keeping on top of things here, it is my favourite hobby and I don't want to let that go.
