The Darling Buds of May

Ahh May, one of the best times of the year; it's peony season! Peonies are hands down my favourite flowers, they are beautiful blooms that start as tight, little buds that explode into pillows of petals. I've been picking a bunch up every time I've spotted some to take full advantage of it, which now means there's three bunches of flowers in our house... My latest bunch are these deep pink peonies waiting to burst open, I picked them up for just £1.50 in Tesco, such a steal!

In light of my love for peonies, I thought I'd share a few other things that I'm loving about the month of May.

Meringue kisses are my new favourite things to bake, I hadn't attempted meringues for years since the time I tried to make them and they turned into one big burnt one... Thankfully these turned out really well and they were pretty tasty too! I got the recipe from Bakerella here if you fancy having a go.

Fitness is back on the agenda (sigh) and it's time to put down that block of cheese and get healthy, I'm keeping myself hydrated in the gym with my new Infruition water bottle* from Joy. It's such a good way to liven up water, my favourite at the moment is either cucumber or mint and lime for a mojito inspired flavour.

Festival season is nearly upon us! 2016 marks the tenth year that we've been going to Latitude Festival so I've already started planning my outfits for this year. I'm taking tips from Coachella and going for a bit of denim and vintage (I'm loving Rokit at the moment) mixed with high quality basics from COS (this tee and these sandals to start with please), now we just need to pray for sunny weather...

Summer means Aperol Spritz! I had my first of the season with my sister at the weekend in an obscenely large glass at Giraffe, I'll be posting more about what we got up to that weekend because we had so much fun!

Porcupine or pineapple? Niche reference but I couldn't help it. Joe bought me this rather magnificent pineapple for Christmas and I absolutely love it. I hadn't found the perfect place for it until this weekend so I thought I'd show it off.

What are you favourite things this month? I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for good weather for the long weekend so I can enjoy all of the above outside!
