Flowers and Waves

As much as I would love to embrace colour as the summer months roll in, I'm still a head to toe black kind of girl at heart. Whatever the weather, black is still my go to colour so if I can add a little splash of summer with a floral print, it makes me look a bit less like Noel Fielding in The IT Crowd.

I wore this outfit for an afternoon catching up with friends at Teacup in the Northern Quarter, but instead of lunch we decided to go for cake and wine, is there a better combination? I love the details of this floral top from Matalan, with the high neck and floaty sleeves. I wore it with a pair of skinny jeans but I'm pretty sure it would look great with a pinafore dress or under a jumper so the flared sleeves can be seen.

No your eyes aren't deceiving you, I decided to change before we went out for lunch at the last minute so sorry for the mid post costume change! But, I wanted to show off the latest addition to my hair routine, the Sapphire 8 in 1 curler. The photo below is my natural, wavy hair after blow drying it, and the two at the top are after I've curled and brushed through.

I struggled for a few days after I had the blonde added to my hair as I went from wearing it straight every day to curly so I played around with different sizes (you can see all the different wand settings on my Instagram video here!) of the Irresistible Me curling wand to find the one that suited my hair best. The beauty of the interchangeable wand is that you experiment with different curl sizes to suit your hair style or mood. You will need a US to UK adapter plug but it's worth it.

Time for me to go and find a bit more colour to add to my wardrobe!
