Making Time

The weekend is a a sacred time, for the rest of the week we sleep, work and that's pretty much it. On the odd day, we might get to the gym before it closes or the cinema if we're feeling particularly adventurous, but the majority of the time our life revolves around work. Thankfully Joe and I work in the same place (interesting article about the group's plans for the future here if you're interested) so we get to see each other during the day and on the drive to/from work, otherwise we'd barely spend any time together!

So the time we get to ourselves at the weekend is extra special, we try to make the most of it (even if we are still on top of work emails and reports) with little treats. Last weekend we headed into town for lunch at San Carlo, as much as I'm not a fan of Valentine's Day I will take any excuse for a lunch out, so we stayed comfy. I wore my new wool GAP cardigan from the Zalando sale* on Love The Sales with a simple white camisole from Next, J Brand jeans, UGG ankle boots, Karen Millen pyramid rings and my trusty Aspinal of London tote bag that has made more appearances on my blog than I have.

Before we went for lunch I booked myself in for an appointment with Only Fingers + Toes who had invited me down to Harvey Nichols in Manchester to try their gel manicure. This is something I don't do that often, I've been a nail biter my whole life so if I get my nails done, it's a real treat so it was lovely to mix it in with a weekend of indulgence. The girls there were absolutely lovely, I could have stayed there for hours nattering away over a glass of champagne and nail polish!

I'm really into nude shades at the moment so I went for a shade called Vogue which is spot on. Georgia who did my nails did such a good job, making sure they were in top top condition and the polish is perfect, fingers crossed they stay intact for a couple of weeks! I'm pretty sure I'll be heading back to get them re-done as soon as they've grown out. You can find out more here.

Anyway, the moral of the story is to take time for yourself. Sometimes getting your nails done and going out for lunch is needed after a long week at work!
