Sweet Dreams with Leesa

When I was younger I used to day dream about being an adult, but instead of having grand plans of going out every night and staying up way past my bed time, I was more focused on interior design and building my own house. I was obviously a troubled child who was a little too influenced by my family's history of property development and my obsession with the feng shui of my doll's house.

This combined with my personal love of sleep (sleep is the BEST) made the process of getting a new mattress a challenge I was more than happy to embark upon. We've had quite a firm orthopedic mattress for the past couple of years but as we're in the process of saving up for a house, we've started to invest in key pieces to make sure we have everything ready for our new home.

I've always wanted a memory foam mattress so it was time to upgrade our bed time. After weeks of research (told you I was thorough!) we settled on a Leesa mattress; it's a new breed of memory foam that is made to order and delivered in a ridiculously compact box. We work pretty much all the time so ease of delivery is so important, the likelihood was that we would have to pick it up from a delivery depot so this way we'd be able to pick it up in the car rather than having to rent a van or for it to be sent back to the warehouse. Plus, it was free delivery so we couldn't complain!

Just take a look below at the size of the box, there's a whole king size mattress in there!

The way they do it is witchcraft by compressing the mattress, this means that once you take it out of the box, you have to cut away the plastic and leave it to re-inflate to the full height for around an hour. Your first night sleep will be comfortable, but once it's had a chance to settle in (around a day or two) it will be THE most comfortable thing ever.

Leesa also happen to have some of the most affordable memory foam mattresses out there, starting at just £390 for a single mattress up to £740 for a super king size. They also have 100 day guarantee so if you don't like it, you have up to 100 days to return it for free. On top of this, for every 10 mattresses they sell, they give one to a homeless shelter.

We've been sleeping on ours for a month now and are totally satisfied, every night's sleep seems to get better and better.

Going from a firm orthopedic mattress to a comfy memory foam wasn't the smoothest transition, it took a good few days of broken sleep for us to settle into the memory foam but when we had, it was a revelation. We now sleep soundly every single night (which never happened in the past with our firm, springy mattress) and getting up at 6am for work is the worst.

If you're looking to get a new mattress, I would thoroughly recommend Leesa. The mattress manages to suit both me and Joe, I have always preferred a squishy mattress whereas he usually like a firm mattress, but the different types of foam within the mattress offers support where you need it.

Take a look at Leesa mattresses here for more information, and if you have any questions about anything from settling the mattress in to delivery, feel free to ask me!

*Leesa sent me a mattress to review, but as always, opinions are entirely my own.

  1. "feng shui of my doll's house" ha, that was good.

Tell you what, that's a decent price for something like that. I'll bookmark these guys for a later date.
