Sponsored post: English Breakfast Tea Cupcakes Recipe

Is there a better time to indulge? Christmas is the only time of year when we're encouraged to work our way through oodles of chocolates, mulled wine, roast potatoes, stuffing, pigs in blankets, Christmas pudding and everything else naughty. So why not add a little baking into the mix?

PG Tips has challenged Jamie Oliver and his team to create recipes with their brand new tea flavours, they have all looked delicious but the most recent video in the series is my absolute favourite, how could you turn down English Breakfast Tea cupcakes with lemon curd and caramel? You can't, that's the answer.

They are super easy to make and are the perfect treat for catching up with friends and family over the festive season, they're sweet but fresh. Or simply air with a freshly brewed cuppa, a blanket and a new episode of your favourite TV show for an afternoon snuggled up away from the winter weather.

To make it easy for you to make this recipe, I've added the ingredients below, simply watch the video underneath for the method and get baking! 


Tea Milk

150ml Whole Milk
6 bags of English Breakfast Tea


150 g Rich Tea Biscuits
50g Melted Butter
1 1/2 Tbsp Golden Syrup
125g Self Raising Flour
125g Caster
1/4 tsp Bicarbonate of Soda
Lemon Zest
125g Unsalted Butter
2 Large Free Range Eggs

Tea Syrup

100ml Water
3 tea Bags
80g Caster Sugar


200g softened Unsalted Butter
450g sifted Icing Sugar

Filling (optional)

Lemon Curd
