I am a big believer in staying in for New Year's Eve, the past few years have just been me and Joe curled up in new PJs, drinking champagne and watching Jools Holland; absolute perfection if you ask me. But this year, we're trying something different!
Nothing too adventurous mind, we're heading to Hawksmoor in Manchester for steak, wine and cake with Joe's brother and sister in law. So I get to spend New Year with some of my favourite people, eating amazing steak and drinking too much wine (and we'll hopefully be home in time to watch Jools, wild I know).
My outfit plan is pretty simple: black lace and satin. Luckily Joe's parents bought me the most beautiful pink satin shoes from Boden, aren't they gorgeous?
I'm going to keep my make up quite simple; blush, gold, nude and glitter with the clearest complexion I can create (the chocolate and wine diet I've been on recently isn't helping this...) Nothing too crazy, but something a bit more special than usual. I'll be using my usual foundation fave; Estee Lauder Double Wear, with YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer which was one of my favourite products in the Selfridges beauty advent calendar!
I picked up these rather beautiful rose gold Charlotte Tilbury eyelash curlers from Selfridges yesterday (happy Christmas, love me) and I can't wait to put them to the test! They're out of stock everywhere online but they're still in store.
I'll be keeping my lips blush because we're going for dinner and I don't really fancy red lippy all over my teeth mid steak! YSL lipstick has taken over from MAC as my favourite this year, I love this shade (Pur Couture 66) as it's barely there but really flattering.
What would New Year's Eve be without a bit of glitter? I have the shortest, stubbiest nails but glitter hides a multitude of nail sins so I did myself a mini mani with Essie Lady Like and Ciate Antique Brooch (similar here). Both of which you can get next day delivery in time for NYE from Lookfantastic.
It's really easy to recreate and looks very NYE, just paint your nails with a couple of coats of the nude shade, then use a little bit of glitter to paint the tips, if you want extra glitter, use a cocktail stick to pick up glitter form the polish and add to your nails. Lock in with a coat of clear polish and you're done!
I never tan, I've tried it a couple of times but hate how it looks as it fades so opt for the pale and interesting look instead. But, seeing as it's New Year's Eve, I'm pushing the boat out and going for a Sienna-X gradual tan, wild again, I know! It looks really natural and fades evenly (especially with the help of the Sienna body balm). I'll be topping it up with a spray of Sienna glitter spray for the big night too because I'm 12 and I love glitter.
To finish off the look I'll be wearing the bracelets Joe gave me for Christmas, they are so pretty and I can't wait to show them off.
What will you be wearing this New Year's Eve? I hope you have the best time whatever your plans are!
