Stay Fit, Don't Quit


For the past few months (alright, more like this year...) I've neglected the gym and healthy eating, instead replacing them with long days in the office at my desk and convenient food. I'm not guilty of constant takeaways and ready meals, but my desk is always stocked up with cereal bars and my usual dinner is something fresh, but quick and easy. This combination has definitely changed my body, my curves have got bigger (even though I'm thankfully still the same dress size) and I've lost tone. Hello, double chin... 

So with the start of a new month (how is it September already please?) it's time to take control of my body, both inside and out. As if they knew of my plight, the lovely people at Get The Label have asked me to join their Stay Fit, Don't Quit campaign to celebrate the launch of their new fitness department. I got to pick out a few pieces to fuel my month of fitness which I'll be showing off soon, but I've already road tested my Adidas trainers and Under Armour leggings and already made another purchase in the sale... New trainers make me want to go the gym, that's fine right??  

Along with my new trainers and gym gear, I'm also going to be trying out Bikram Yoga in Manchester, I've been wanting to try it for ages so I can't wait! 


As well as working on my fitness levels, I'm also going to be making sure I'm eating well. This means plenty of fresh vegetables, protein and salad as well as making sure I prepare all my lunches and keep snacks at work to a minimum. Wine will be banished where socially acceptable, the fact that one glass has the same amount of calories in as a Cornetto is not a fact I enjoy and chocolate will be a thing of the past.

Alongside getting fit and healthy, I'm also planning to get the rest of me healthy, which means doing lots of life admin like dentist check ups, free eye tests, contact lens checks, doctor appointments etc... after putting them all off for so long! 

I have managed to choose the worst month to get fit and healthy with possibly the busiest month ever ahead of me though! My best friend is coming to visit from Canada, it's The Man's birthday, London Fashion Week, a weekend in Iceland, a weekend in the Lake District and a 10 course meal does not bode well... I'll need all the will power I can to stick to my guns (watch out for more puns coming soon to a blog near you...) during the week so I can indulge at the weekend. But not too much.

Now, let's see if this works... Wish me luck!
