Red Lips and Messy Hair

When The Man suggested that we run away to the Lake District for the weekend, I imagined our usual activities of climbing five mountains, walking 10 miles and surviving on nothing but trail mix. But with our work summer party on the Friday night, instead we opted for a relaxing alternative.

The Man spotted The Leathes Head whilst on one of his aforementioned climbing adventures so decided to book us in for the night. It was an absolute dream; a lazy afternoon reading, relaxing and taking in the beautiful views. We began the evening with a glass of wine in the garden before heading inside for a rather delectable 3 course meal (ALL of the cheese please) with impeccable service. I so can't wait to go back again, even if just to try out the chilled chocolate fondant with honeycomb and pistachio...

I opted for a simple black dress that I picked up for our holiday for around £7 from USC, one of my best buys of the year, I've got so much wear out of it already! I wore it with my new wedge sandals from Jones Bootmaker* and a clutch bag from John Lewis.

I'm totally in love with my new Nars Orgasm blush too, it's the perfect shade of pink with a shimmer, ideal for a natural glow! I'll post a full review soon so keep an eye out. I've used my old favourite Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Audacious on my lips, it's SO good!

Now to get back to House of Cards, I'm completely obsessed with it!

  3. Your dress is super cute. And I love those wedges. Can't beat Jones the Bootmaker for leather shoes x
