Treasure Hunting at Alexandra Palace

One of my favourite things to do is hunt around in antique fairs, car boot sales, vintage stores and charity shops, over the years I've found some amazing pieces from a vintage Hermes plate to a 1950's bed side table. There's something about the thrill of the hunt and the feeling that you've discovered something special and unique that I love so when we were down in London a few weeks ago, we headed to Alexandra Palace for the IACF antique fair!

I'd actually never been to Alexandra Palace before so that was a treat in itself, perched on top of a hill overlooking London, it felt a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Just look how beautiful the venue was, never mind the amazing antiques and vintage pieces within it!

I went with my boyfriend, his brother and his wife (his brother's wife that is, otherwise that would have been a bit awkward...), as soon as we walked in the boys wandered off and Sarah and myself headed straight for the jewellery and vintage clothes. There was such an amazing selection and all of the sellers we spoke to were lovely, we spent so long trying on hats and looking at diamonds that they boys were two ciders (and one vintage watch purchase) in by the time we had finished!

The best part of the day was when Sarah spotted this amazing Burberry cape and we knew it just had to be mine, isn't it beautiful? I honestly cannot wait for it to be cold enough to wear it!

Find out where the next IACF antique fair is here and get treasure hunting!

*The lovely people at IACF gave us two free tickets to experience the event but all opinions (and purchases!) were our own.
