For the majority of my life I've bitten my nails, I know, I know, such a bad habit! But for the past few years I've broken that habit, after I decided that having nails that I could actually paint would probably be more fun than hiding my stubby little nails.
Since then I've fully embraced nail polish owning pretty much every colour under the sun (with an inordinate amount of burgundy and nude shades in there for some reason), but nail art is something I've shied away from apart from my brief obsession with leopard print nails...
But recently I've been rather intrigued by it all, especially after Amy (take a look at her blog here, her nail art is INSANE) started at work and I had nail goals. So when MoYou London got in touch to ask if I'd like to review one of their Nail Art Stamping Gift Sets, I took them up on it to see what they could do.
The set comes complete with three nail polishes, 2 collections of nail art designs on metal sheets, a stamp, a scraper and a very easy to follow instruction manual. I have to admit, I was a little baffled at first but once I'd read through the manual, it was easy peasy!
All you have to do is simply coat your chosen design with a layer of nail polish (this can be any polish you like, it doesn't have to be the ones in the set), then scrape the excess polish off, quickly stamp and transfer onto your nail. Easy peasy huh?
It did take me a couple of tries to get it right, mostly because I was taking photos of every step and it dried out before I had a chance to stamp it on my nail! #bloggerproblems
I used a nude gel polish as a base as I thought it would be better to be able to use nail polish remover to get rid of any mistakes on my first go without damaging the base layer. I chose the 'Hipster Set' because I loved the look of the designs, all those geometric patterns and anchors won me over straight away. The set also includes three nail polishes, but in real life these were a bit brighter than I expected so after a few tests, I settled on one of my trusty burgundy shades for the stamp!
I was so happy with the final results, a perfect accent nail with a ridiculously intricate design that took around 30 seconds to do, perfect. Plus, it almost perfectly matches my new business cards, it's like it was meant to be!
If you've tried MoYou London products before, let me know what you think of them, I'd love to hear what your experience with them was like as I'll definitely be investing in more!
