Usually I don't go in for themed weeks and days, but this week is different. Skincare Awareness Week, follows directly after Sun Awareness Week and is devoted to protecting, preventing and correcting sun damage. Destination Skin conducted a survey about skincare and fund that 74% of people see themselves as being skin care aware, but less than 20% wear SPF every day.
I went into the Destination Skin clinic in Manchester (located in House of Fraser) to have my skin scanned to see what damage I'd done over the years, the results were pretty terrifying if I'm honest. I'm usually very good with wearing products with SPF in and wear sun cream on holiday but the amount of sun damage on my face says differently... Thankfully I'm at the right age to be able to make a difference, I'm having a course of treatments to correct the sun damage and will be using SPF religiously every day from now on! I'll be documenting my journey so keep an eye out for future posts.
A skin scan at Destination Skin is £25, but that is fully redeemable against any products or treatments so is so worth doing!
