Mother's Day Gift Guide

Is it just me or does it seem to be one day after another at the moment? We've flown through Valentine's Day, Pancake Day, London Fashion Week, International Women's Day and now it's nearly time for Mother's Day! I'm tired after just writing them all down.

But anyway, Mother's Day is a bloody lovely day. Frankly it should be every day of the year, but we insist on one day of spoiling our delightful mums rotten. I thought I'd put together a bit of a gift guide this year in case you're in need of a little helping hand. It's a collection of things my very own Mother would love and things that I think would be a treat that she wouldn't usually indulge in. Hey gin, I'm talking to you.

Let's start with this beauty. My mum isn't a massive fan of gin but she loves rhubarb and ginger so this gin liqueur from Edinburgh gin is spot on. I tried some when I was in Edinburgh last week (more on that soon!) and it was SO good. If you ever spot it in a shop, I implore you to purchase it immediately.

I picked up this little bottle from Royal Mile Whiskies in Edinburgh which you can order from online, but it's also available at Edinburgh Gin, Amazon and John Lewis. It's a wonder I hadn't discovered it before! Thanks to Emma from The Glasgow Foodie for the tip.

My mum loves to snuggle up and read (or, more likely, tweet) so this grey maxi cardigan* from Florence & Fred is ideal for her. Unless I steal it first of course, definitely not wearing it right now...

I am a big believer in skincare, not a day goes by when I don't cleanse, moisturise and exfoliate, I use night cream and day cream, eye serum and so on... But my mum isn't quite as obsessed. So this lovely Cleanser and Night Cream duo* from Joan Collins Timeless Beauty will be great for her and anyone who loves a skincare treat. I've used this cleanser a lot in the past and adore it. Not only does it melt away make up, it's also moisturising and anti-aging. Dream.

I also picked up these super cute little slippers* from Florence and Fred, they're only £4 so are perfect for a little extra for pottering around the house!

How cute is this Philip Kingsley Pamper Time Gift Set* from Lookfantastic? It includes a giant tub of the 'we are not worthy' Elasticizer as well as Daily Damage Defence, a spray bottle and a hair turban. The perfect pamper kit for Mother's Day. Simply add gin, slippers, a comfy cardigan and some skincare and you have the perfect pamper night in. See what I did there?

Also, if you're based in London, pop into the Royal Exchange for a much nicer shopping experience than Oxford Street!

I hope this post has given you a little inspiration if you were struggling to find the perfect Mother's Day gift, if not, treat yourself to something!
