Finding the Perfect Dress
If you follow me on twitter or Instagram, you have probably seen me umming and ahhing about getting the dress. I first fell in love with the dress when I was in London for London Collections: Men in January, I had popped into Debenhams to charge my phone in their press lounge when something rather beautiful caught my eye.
I'd been looking for a dress to wear to The Man's brother's wedding (which is next weekend, eep!) but hadn't seen anything remotely suitable but when I saw this beautiful, lilac tulle dress in Coast, I knew it was 'the one'. I didn't have time to try it on so quickly took a snap so I could hunt it down and try it on when I was back in Manchester. I headed to the Trafford Centre, tried it on the week after and fell in love. Lots of you lovely people left very nice comments on twitter and Instagram, but because of the rather hefty price tag, I decided not to buy it and carry on looking for another dress.
I carried on looking, trying on dresses that just didn't compare but I kept hoping that I'd find a dress that would capture my heart as that one had. But, alas, nothing did.
So a few months and hundreds of dresses later, I decided to buy the dress! I headed to the Trafford Centre after work, went straight to Coast and... they were out of stock. Typical!
This is my fashion disaster, as illustrated by Erica Sharp as part of the SimplyBe #SimplyBeReal campaign, I love it! They are encouraging people to share real moments, and I thought I'd share my dress story, so if you see the perfect dress (or anything!) grab it while you can!
p.s. This story does have a happy ending, I hunted the dress down online and it's hanging up waiting to be worn to the wedding! We shall live happily ever after.
