I'm always up for a lock-in, generally they tend to include being in a old man's pub drinking questionable ales which is all well and good, but the Biza beauty lock-in was a little bit different. Biza is the Duty-free store at Manchester Airport and we were invited for an after hours snoop around to discover the different beauty treatments and brands they offer; dream.
After going through security (they really weren't keen on how many beauty goodies we all had going through the bag scanner!) we were greeted to an almost empty beauty floor, we were like kids in a candy store! Because the latest flight is around 9pm from Terminal 1, we had the place to ourselves to explore and enjoy!
There are so many free beauty treatments available in Biza Terminal 1 in Manchester Airport, we were blown away by the choice of mini treatments that you could have done before your flight, you could turn up with no skincare and no make-up but get on your flight fully made up and feeling amazing! From 10 minute Benefit skin consultations to Elizabeth Arden hand massages, there are so many ways to indulge for free, it's also a great way to relax if you're not keen on flying.
We experienced a few of the mini treatments, just take a look below to see what we got up to...
Our evening began in Jo Malone, a beautiful store full of gorgeous products and decorated in winter berries, it felt so festive and the added mince pies and prosecco made it even more so!
The Jo Malone store in Biza offers a complimentary hand and arm massage so we just had to try it out, the scents are matches to you by the lovely masseur so it's personalised to your taste. I opted for peony scents as they are my favourite flowers, my skin (which is struggling with winter as always) fel so soft and smelled amazing, I don't think I've ever made so many people smell my arm as I did after that...
My Christmas list is now full of Jo Malone products, I'm an instant convert!
Clarins also has a standalone store within Biza which we wandered over to next, they offer a range of treatments including Instant Facial Lifts and 5 Minute Morning make-up, perfect for last minute touch ups before your flight.
They also have some amazing travel kits (more about these in future posts!) which you can only buy in the airport.
We split up into pairs so myself and Mary headed over to the gorgeous Estee Lauder concession where we spent far too long speaking to the make-up artists about all thing cosmetics! We tried out a couple of the treatments, I opted for a contouring bronzer tutorial where I finally found out how to do an easy-peasy contour, definitely one I'll be trying at home!
Mary went for the foundation matching as we'd both heard amazing things about the Double Wear foundation, it lived up to the hype and looked amazing on her skin! I think it's safe to say we'll both be investing in it.
Oh MAC, how I love you so... MAC is one of my favourite cosmetics brands so it was lovely to see a nice big counter without the hassle of it being surrounded like the one in Selfridges! Mary tried out some fake lashes (which looked amazing btw) while I pored over the lipsticks, whisky in hand as that's how we roll.
After this, we re-joined the rest of the group and headed back to Jo Malone for dessert, (more) prosecco and a catch up to see how everyone else had found the treatments. We got chatting to the lovely Beth and Anoushka before it was time to leave and head back to the Radisson Blu where we were treated to a night in the Business Class Suite.
As if we weren't quite spoiled enough at the event, the Radisson Blu Business class suite in the recently refurbished Manchester Airport hotel that we were treated to was a dream. Lovely little gifts were left for us, you can't go wrong with a cupcake, Clarins goodies and prosecco!
The Man had come to meet me as it's a lot closer to work and it was the day before the dreaded Black Friday, so we treated ourselves to delicious room service and a movie, the perfect way to end a lovely day!
Thank you so much to Biza, Manchester Airport and Radisson Blu for having us. I'm pretty sure I'll be booking a flight just to go shopping in the very near future!
*My stay at the Radisson Blu was complimentary but all views are completely my own
