Sunday Brunch in Piccadilly

Last Sunday, after a lovely weekend of having one of my best friends all to myself, it was time for her to head home. We ventured to Manchester Piccadilly (after a lazy lie in of course!) so she could catch a train back to our home town of Nantwich. We weren't quite ready to say goodbye to the weekend though so we decided to try out the new breakfast menu at TGI Fridays in Piccadilly Station before she left, because we're grown ups and we can have breakfast whenever we bloody well want to! Well, up until 11.30 when they stop serving it but you get my point...

The restaurant has just opened in the station and has a pretty epic breakfast menu (including stacks of pancakes and breakfast burgers, I know right) that was just waiting for us to devour it. I was fully expecting the restaurant to be dark and a bit on the 'we're in a station' side of things but it was actually really light and spacious, what's better is you could barely see the station from inside, especially from where we sat towards the back of the restaurant, perfect for a little escape from the hustle and bustle!

I had pretty much decided that I was going to have the pancakes but threw a curve ball at the last minute and opted for Cajun Chicken Hash instead because I'm living on the edge, Lydia chose the breakfast flatbread. We soon realised that 'breakfast flatbread' was code for 'pizza', which more people should totally have.

They were both delicious (I made sure to try quite a large chunk of Lydia's, just to make sure) and both were exactly the right amount to fill you up but not leave you completely full, perfect for a mid morning treat. I'm not sure the same can be said for other things on the menu like the American Breakfast and the Breakfast Burger, but I bet they're amazing if you're hungry and/or hungover!

I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking to escape a little at Manchester Piccadilly and fancy a bit of brekkie, or for a quiet drink later in the day! The staff were so lovely too, some of the nicest I've experienced in Manchester so that's another 10 points to Gryffindor.

Thank you to TGI Fridays for treating us to brunch, it was a lovely end to the weekend!
