Autumn Details

Autumn is all about embracing the new season, it's time to bring out the leather, prints, textures, tartan and gold accessories that so lend themselves to the falling leaves, blustering winds and every dropping temperature.

I just wanted to share a few of my favourite things that I've been loving over the past month or so. My first are these Ash slip on trainers from Coggles, they have barely left my feet since I ordered them for our holiday to Italy! They are SO comfy, pretty much go with everything and were absolutely perfect for travelling in, I even managed to walk 15km in them around Lake Orta without so much as a blister.

I am a leather jacket girl at heart, I wear them all year round but really need to step out of my comfort zone and try out a few different things. This Biba jacket courtesy House of Fraser is my first step towards a new look, it's perfect for the period before it starts to get really cold as it's light but keeps you covered. The blue leopard print details make it a little more exciting than a normal black jacket, I always get compliments when I wear this jacket which is encouraging my to get out of my leather jacket rut!

Ahh, the wonderful autumn winter combination of leather and tartan, finally it's time to crack out the kilt! The newest additions to my skirt collection are both from Next, the check mini skirt and this leather look pleated skirt are dreamy. Simply chuck on an oversized jumper, one of these skirts and some ankle boots and you have the perfect autumn look. Do make sure that you get a size smaller than you usually would as Next sizes are always very roomy, if it's a high waisted skirt I'd even opt for a couple of sizes smaller. It's always best to try them on before you buy or be naughty and order a couple of sizes.

I usually stick to silver jewellery but as soon as the colder weather rolls around, I feel myself leaning towards gold and rose gold tones. The Man treated me to this beautiful gold rope bangle for my birthday by Aurelie Bidermann which I love, it will most definitely be making an appearance on my wrist for years to come. As it was my birthday while we were on holiday, the lovely people at Gemporia (gorgeous jewellery at actually affordable prices) treated me to an opal ring as it's the birth stone of October, isn't it gorgeous? I'll be posting about it properly soon. Along with these pieces, I also love my rose gold watch from Next, rose gold stacking rings from Buckley London and diamond bracelet from Links of London.

What are your key pieces for Autumn? I'm off to buy more leather, tartan and grey jumpers, stat!

  1. Opal is my birthstone too, and that ring is absolutely gorgeous. I never look in Next, but those skirts are fab, will definitely pop in next time I see one!
