The Best Bath of My Life with The Bathory

When better to post about the best bath of my life than at the end of transfer deadline day? The Man is transfixed by an ever updating twitter feed and the utterly banal natter of Sky Sports so I am transporting myself back in time to yesterday evening's bath.

I rarely treat myself to a bath but when I do, I do it right; candles, book, face mask, the whole shebang. So when Georgia from The Bathory got in touch to see if I'd like to review one of their bath soaks, of course I said yes!

The Bathory allows you to be an alchemist of bath time. You can customise your very own bath soak to include exactly what you want, dream. You begin by choosing from one of three salt mixes; Bask, Soothe or Detox, depending on what your body needs. You then select three oils to add to the mix which will fill your bathroom with the most delicious scents! Your unique bath soak is blended right here in the UK and will arrive on your doorstep 48 hours later. Then it's over to you, get naked and relax in the best bath of your life.

I opted for a soothing salt blend as that's generally what I need after a long week at work, this pure Epsom salts blend is packed with minerals as well as oatmeal, honey and buttermilk to soothe your skin. I added the most calming scents I could with chamomile, ylang ylang and lavender, when it arrived I couldn't wait until bath time!

It's really easy to use, just run a bath as deep as you can, then add the full glass jar if you want the best bath of your life, half of it to get all of the benefits of the oils or a quarter for a lovely, fragrant bath. I decided to use half of it just so I could treat myself to two baths, but even when it's all used up, you're still left with a beautiful, violet glass jar which I will definitely be using elsewhere in the house after I have the second best bath of my life.

At £18 it is an expensive bath but it's worth every penny, especially if you take full advantage and take an hour or two out of your day to soak. These would make absolutely lovely Christmas presents too, you can even purchase gift cards for your loved ones to invent their own!

  2. I really love the idea of The Bathory:) I always have showers seeing as the bath at my house isn't all that alluring, but a product like this makes me long for my very own! One day when I (finally) move out! ;)

  6. I do love a good bath, I have chronic pain so I often need to spend an hour or two a day soaking in the tub and giving my muscles some TLC. Being the bath fan that I am, I'd love to try this product, although it's quite expensive like you mentioned it's a great thing to ask or give as a gift as it's something extra special!

  7. I have always loved baths. Since I moved in a new place, the hot tap doesn't run hot water very well so no baths for me ever since. I miss baths so so much!
