Illustration: Robert Sae-Heng

I can't remember how I happened upon the work of Robert Sae-Heng, him and his work have been a permanent fixture in my twitter feed for years now and I thought it was high time to share some of his work with you.

Each piece, whether colourful or monochrome, little or large, commissioned or just for himself, has a certain quiet quality to it. The dreamlike characters are brought to life with fine sketch lines and vibrant water colour, their tiny feet allowing them to dash across the page. They all have lovely names too, try and find 'When Three Girls Get Together To Celebrate Their First Unicorn' as a challenge!

When Robert isn't illustrating he can be found eating dim sum, drinking bubble tea and doodling. Sounds like an idyllic life!

You can take a look at more of his work here and you can also see it at Somerset House.

  1. Like these, there's something a bit Lowry about the movement.
