The Bellwether: Cross Stitch for the Modern Age

It all started a few weeks ago when The Great British Sewing Bee started, my love of craftiness, sewing and knitting all came rushing back and I suddenly felt the need to make things!

So when the lovely Claire from The Bellwether tweeted about her cross stitch DIY kits, I couldn't wait to try one out! I used to love cross stitch when I was little, I'm not sure why but anything to do with sewing and craft, I was obsessed with. So when I saw The Bellwether's cross stitch with a modern twist, I was rather taken.

I opted for the British Isles Cross Stitch Kit to have a go at, it comes with a mini embroidery hoop, needle, thread, fabric, instructions and an easy to follow chart. It's so simple to follow, I managed to stitch mine up in an episode of The Great British Sewing Bee and was pretty happy with the results! How cute is it?

If you're not feeling crafty but still fancy some cross stitch, you can buy ready made ones for example you can have a cross stitched 'I love gin', 'make tea not war' or a simple 'fuck you' immortalised in cross stitch.

You can find out more and shop here.

  1. This is sweet, and I'm liking that you didn't exclude Ireland from the stitch. Maps don't look the same without then.
