Tweet Eats: Proper Tea Manchester

After a whole January of being good, eating healthy, not drinking and going to the gym more time than I can remember, it was only right to start February off with a bit of a treat.

We had heard rumour that Teacup in the Northern Quarter had opened up a sister tea room next to Manchester Cathedral called Proper Tea so it seemed like the best thing to do! Me and my work friends Kyle and Sari treated ourselves to a morning of very British cream tea, chatting and cake.

The decor is so cute with black and white tiled flooring, tables made from old doors and jam jars of flowers. Seeing as Kyle is from the US, Sari is from Finland and I rarely drink tea, the tea room was a bit of a novelty for us all, we loved eating scones and watching old ladies share a pot of tea.

I had a scrumptious hot chocolate and a 'townie' for the first time ever, which was just a little bit amazing! It's a peanut butter, chocolate brownie in a jam lined pastry case, YUM.

It's a lot lighter and smaller than Teacup with the lovely surroundings of the cathedral but it does fill up pretty quickly when town is busy, but you can reserve a table to make sure you get a seat.

I want to do more in Manchester this year, whether it's gigs, eating out or having a drink. I've been having a play with a new app called Line Up, it's a planner and directory of all things going on in Manchester and it's my guide to 2014!

  3. The place sounds really nice!

Thanks for buying my card, it is on its way to you! I can make customised cards but they would be handdrawn/painted rather than professionally printed like my current cards. xx
