A/W '14 Beauty - Burberry, Vivienne Westwood, Topshop Unique and Giles

I've spent all of London Fashion Week running around a rather grey, rainy London attending shows, presentations, films, interviewing designers, sitting in a corner of the press room writing up show reports, staying up until ridiculous o'clock, drinking countless glasses of champagne and generally tiring myself out.

I've been reporting for Coggles so have been seeing the big picture of each collection, so now that I'm back up North, I wanted to focus on the detail. There were so many beauty looks I fell in love with, but these are my favourite looks from my favourite shows.

The image above is one of my favourites from over LFW, it was shot by our in-house photographer Alex who discovered a talent for runway, backstage and street style photography! You can see more of his shots and our show reports here if you fancy.

But now, on to the beauty...

Burberry A/W '14

Perfectly wearable and effortless, Burberry had an incredibly feminine look that lay hand in hand with their A/W '14 collection. The eyes were the main focus with an aubergine powder brushed across the lid with darker plum streaks in the creases, illuminated with highlighter to bring a subtle rose glow.

The lips were matte, plump and had a just been kissed flush. The cheeks also mirrored this flush while the complexion as a whole stayed clear, clean and glowing.

This look is easy to create, tone it down for an every day look by just having shadow on the top lid, perfect.

Recreate the look with:

Face: RMK Creamy Polished Base £28
Eyes: bareMinerals Glimmer Eyeshadow in Devotion £14
Cheeks: Nars Blush in Outlaw £21.50
Lips: Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugein £17.50

Giles A/W '14

You'll need a little bit of confidence for this one, but if you brave it, your eyes will pop like nobodies business! Keep the face clear with a subtle blush on the cheek bones, the lips nude and make the eyes the main event.

Sweep black shadow across the top lid, creating a smokey eye look but give it an instant lift with a slick of electric blue liner on your bottom lash line.  I love this look, it's perfect for a runway show but maybe not for the faint hearted.

Recreate the look with:

Face: MAC Strobe Cream £23.50
Eyes: Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Siren £14
Cheeks: Stila Custom Colour Blush in Coral £13
Lips: Lipstick Queen Sinner Opaque Lipstick in Natural £18

Topshop Unique A/W '14

Possibly my favourite look from London Fashion Week and something I'll definitely be trying in A/W. It's a twist on the smokey eye but stripped back, the top lid is completely clean leaving the lashes to do all the work while the bottom lash line is coated with a thick, black kohl.

Add a pink flush to the cheeks, keep the skin matte and the lips pale pink. Beautifully feminine but in no way girly.

Recreate the look with:

Face: Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Foundation £25.50
Eyes: MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack £15
Cheeks: bareMinerals Blush in Giddy Pink £19
Lips: Nars Lip Laquer in Sweet Charity £17.50

Vivienne Westwood A/W '14

Unabashedly Vivienne Westwood, this look screams messed up Marilyn Monroe and matches the A/W '14 collection to a tee. Smudged, cherry red lips, flushed, wind swept cheeks and classic eyes were the orders of the day.

Tumbling curls, pinned up-dos and flowing locks create a juxtaposition that ties the whole look together, this is the one that I'll be adopting on a regular basis, maybe with a tidier lip...

Recreate the look with:

Face: RMK Pressed Powder £32
Eyes: Benefit They're Real Mascara £19.50
Cheeks and Lips: MAC Lipstick in Russian Red £15 (mixed and stippled on for the cheeks)

What is your favourite look for this for A/W?
