Fancy Footwork

For the first time in years, I’m going on holiday. A longer than a week, lying on a beach, soaking up the sun, drinking wine, reading books, full on relaxing holiday! I’ve been on adventures and short holidays but nothing beats a proper holiday.

Me and The Man are off to Spain for just over a week in September which, after the flights, apartment, travel (ie. Boring things) are sorted, means it’s time to start planning outfits and shopping for things I definitely don’t need.

My main concern is shoes, if you know me in real life you’ll know that I have a lot of shoes and the majority of them are heels, not exactly the best for traveling light! So, my new quest is to find the perfect pair of actually practical sandals that are comfy, look good and, most importantly, don’t take up much room in my teeny little suitcase.

I’m really not one for standard flip flops, they are kind of everything I’m against encapsulated in a shoe, they’re flat, flippy, floppy, can fall off at any given moment and cause havoc between toes. But then again, they are perfect for taking off easily at the beach and are eventually comfy once you’ve worn them in. I’ve found these Beach Haze sandals masquerading as flip flops which may be the missing link between my normal shoes and flip flops! I love the cross over on the big toe, it looks so much better than a normal flip flop and creates a little bit of interest, I bet it’s more comfortable too!

They’re from Reef and they’re $26, not too bad for the answer to all my beach problems!

Going on holiday also means that Project Bikini is back in full force, I definitely need to lose a pound or seven before getting back into my bikini. I’m back on the diet (not so much of a diet, more just eating healthily, little and often) and back in the gym or at least regular exercise most days of the week. My exercise routine includes gym or the 7 minute workout at home, or tennis or a run if I’m feeling particularly energetic after work! Watch out for my wishlist of bikinis coming up soon on le blog, feel free to tweet me any suggestions too!
