Underwater with Yuli Sato

More dreamy photography for you! Young, Canadian photographer Yuli Sato creates sublimely lovely images depicting underwater scenes which usually feature fresh faced teens with strange objects, for example a plastic horse or a children's book. Obviously, there are also images above and beyond the water but these are the ones that caught my eye.

Along with continuing her education at university in Canada she also runs a magazine called Dousee, showcasing up and coming photography talent. Her dream is to one day work for Lula, her images are definitely going in the right direction...

Visit her website here and her magazine, Dousee, here.

  4. I love underwater photography, it makes me want to experience the same relaxed weightlessness as the models and watch fabrics float and swirl around with a life of their own.

  13. Gorgeous photography! How funny, came here to reply to your comment (I replied on my own post - which is silly, you might not read it):

"Oh, gosh Clare, thank you! But I still need to go to the gym for my own health mind/body spiritual everything - plus it tones me up. I just love love love to swim! Same with yoga. Just love the way I feel when I do.

That is so sweet of you. What area does your grandmother live in? Is she still there?"

so it's funny that your post happens to be about water. It's only making me more in the mood to go swimming!

It's a lovely blog. If you want to swap links just let me know. I'm trying to move away from 'street style london' so if you'd like, just link me as 'polka dot'.

Linking you now under UK style. I love these photos, these colours, and will keep my eye out for Yuli Sato's work. thanks for the post & the kind comment. xo

  14. Lovely pictures. I have done a bit of underwater photography and although it's easy to get amazing effects it's terribly difficult to 'control' the picture.

  19. I saw a very similar series by another artist - I'm kicking myself in the butt right now for not remembering the name of the artist or the series. I just remember that I saw it while I was visiting Houston Texas.

  34. Underwater photography always gets me. The images are just so dreamy and beautiful. The colours are gorgeous as well. I love that she was holding a horse under the water - very strange! The ones above the water are gorgeous too. They kind of finish the story, if you know what I mean.
