Kendra Ahimsa Putera aka Ardneks

These lovely, creative and interesting photos are the work of young photographer Kendra Ahimsa Putera aka Ardneks.

Inspired by the Fever Ray video for 'When I Grow Up', which I have posted at the end of the images, you can definitely see how the styling and direction have been influenced.

I love to see talented young people influences and how they interpret them.

Have a look at his Deviant Art profile for more info. I thought it would be nice to have a short, colourful post for once! Plus, I have to rush out soon as I'm on a shoot with MFN today, should be fun.

I'm not going to talk about the election, but suffice to say I'm not particularly happy, we shall see...

  6. Indeed, I see the Fever Ray influence . . . I just love these ritualistic/pagan type of fashion photos! And the last picture is just like a still from Guillermo del Toro's El laberinto del fauno, yet nice reinterpretation.

but on a happier note, this photoshoot is incredible! maybe it's just me but it had such an impact, it's so raw... I just love it :)

  13. Oh I like new, undiscovered photographers so much better than the established ones. There's much more freshness to their shots. Thank you for sharing, dear!

  15. I do not know Fever Ray. What I do know is that these photos rock!! I love her nails and her use of yarn and antlers.
Not sure I understand the "ethnic" statement above? I do not see what is or is not "ethnic" about this look. Also I must point out that such a term is not really appropriate anymore-- how can something not be ethnic?

  23. i love these photos. they remind me of an old soviet movie from the 70's about gypsies. the main character has dark black hair and dresses similar. i believe in the UK it was called " Gypsy camp vanishes into heaven". It really is a nice musical piece.

  28. I did read some of your election tweets - very entertaining (as a not-being-allowed-to-vote foreigner I feel I can stay out of it all. Although I wouldn't mind the 50k UKIP is offering non Brits to 'Go Home'). GREAT PICTURES!!
