Uncommon Matters

I was trying to find something romantic and frilly for V day but I seem to be drawn to hard edged designs and weird styling, can't help it, that's just what I like! Uncommon Matters have both of these and more, the white pieces are solid porcelain, hence the title of the collection - Handle with Care, I pretty much love any jewellery made out of things they shouldn't be.The others are metal and look equally wonderful.

They have created beautiful pieces that hark back to starched collars and stiff upper lips. I imagine the chain necklace makes the best sound when you walk, I'm so clumsy though that they would probably have to be kept in my house as a sculpture rather than going on adventures around my neck.

The designers behind these pieces are Berlin lovely Amelie Riech, have a look at her website for more info and stockists, sadly there are none in England, I'm going to go off and do a little cry now...

Amelia is sending over the lookbook of the new collection as soon as it's ready so I'll have some more pretty things to show you soon!

Happy V Day!

  2. Haha I think a lot of people connect themselves with black on Vday ;) For those of us wo are reminded of how far away the ones we love are.
Beautiful pictures, though. Black and white is the definaition of class and sophisticated.

  4. these photos are SO interesting - the model's expressions are perfect! pretty and ugly at the same time, if that makes sense, and so expressive. Draws me in completely! But to be honest I completely ignored the collars... I was too focused on the model!

Yayyy can't wait to see your first outfit post! In my opinion you can't beat a tripod - much less scary than posing in front of somebody!

  7. there's nothing more annoying than stockists in every country other than the one you're on. i used to love living in scandinavia, as if one country didn't have a stockist for something or other then inevitably another nearby country did, making the most perfect excuse to get away for a weekend! these are so pretty though, like a development upon the little lace collars that used to be sewn on Victorian girls' dresses. i look forward to seeing a bit more from the lookbook.
