Sadly, as soon as I've handed one project in, I immediately have to start another.
This one is an essay about whether Couture is relevant today or not, it is an interesting subject but I have minus motivation. I do like to write though so I'm sure i'll get into it soon. Hopefully.
I ransacked the library today, with the help of Mat and Grace, and came out loaded with books, relevant or not I haven't decided yet, and a video about Yves Saint Laurent.
I've watched the video, starting with the easy option of course, and YSL seemed like an incredibly talented but immensely troubled man throughout his life. I decided to do a quick doodle of him as I haven't posted anything for a while and it will get me in the mood for doing work.

I'm writing this whilst singing My Girl by Otis Redding VERY loudly. I adore him.

Mister Rob Ryan

I adore Rob Ryan (, I have done since about year 12 when his work first caught my eye. He collaborated with Vogue, something he's done many time before and since, to make a paper cut dress.

It's just beautiful. His work inspired me to create my own paper dresses for my A level art and I loved every finger crippling moment. I also did a uni project based on his work, it was a window display for Habitat which is still on display on the wall at uni for anyone who's nosey and reading this at Uclan. My fingers are still slanted at the ends from holding a scalpel for so bloody long.

Just thought I'd do a quick post about him as it's coming up to valentines day and I was thinking of doing a little, romantic cut out card for my boyfriend.

What I really want is one of his 'Key's to my heart', just a laser cut plastic key but it's still lovely, I shall acquire some of his work some day. These look like they're wooden versions, the ones I saw were in a shop in Margate and were just as lovely.

New Things

I've been doing some lovely shopping recently, as I felt the need to have some new things.

This dress is from Oasis, well the real one is this is obviously just a doodle, I think it's lovely.

I adore these boots. The price was originally £45 but had been reduced to £19, when i went to pay for them they'd been reduced all the way down to £9. I was one happy customer.
I've just been wearing them around the house so far but they'll be taken outside tomorrow.

I also finally found a good, big, black bag that I drew a picture of but it was just a lump of black so there's no point in posting it. It's from Topshop and it's lovely though.

I wish it would snow properly in Preston, people are having snow days in the South, no fair!
